Preparatory 1 | 5 years The perfect age to build the first foundations of ballet. Introduction to posture, rhythm and coordination in a gradual and motivating way, respecting each child's development. Wednesday / Friday / Saturday: 18:00 – 18:45 | €36/month
Preparatory 2 | 6 years Consolidation of the fundamentals with the introduction of simple choreographic sequences. The work becomes more structured, always maintaining a positive and motivating environment. Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday: 18:00 – 18:45 | €35/month

About Ent'artes
Ent'artes is a dance school in Braga with over 10 years of excellence, awarded and recognised in national and international competitions. Certified by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) with registration number 24116, it offers a structured and rigorous ballet programme for all ages — from Ballet Baby to advanced level for adults.
With institutional support from the Braga City Council and its own projects such as the Motus Dance Project and the Plataforma Ent'artes, the school goes far beyond classes: it trains dancers, creates artists and builds a reference dance community in Braga.

1. My child has never done ballet. Where do they start?
A: Simply let us know their age and we will guide you from there. Each age group has a class suited to the child's level of development, no prior experience required. For the youngest children, Ballet Baby (3-4 years) is the ideal starting point.
2. What is the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) programme?
A: The RAD is one of the most recognised ballet teaching programmes in the world, based in London. Classes follow this structured curriculum, allowing students to progress consistently and, if they wish, sit internationally certified examinations.
3. What is PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique)?
A: PBT is a method that complements classical ballet, using exercise balls to develop muscular strength, posture and body awareness. It is especially recommended from Grade 2 onwards, as a supplement to regular ballet classes.
4. Can parents watch the classes?
A: Classes are not open for observation by parents or guardians. This environment allows children to focus, develop independence and feel at ease as they learn and progress at their own pace. Performances and showcases are organised throughout the year so that families can follow their children's progress.
5. Is special clothing or equipment required?
A: Yes. Ballet classes require specific attire: a leotard, tights and soft ballet shoes, with hair tied in a bun. For levels that include PBT, the necessary materials are provided by the school. All guidance will be given at the time of enrolment.
6. At what age does pointe work begin?
A: Pointe work is introduced gradually only when the muscular and skeletal structure is sufficiently developed — normally from the age of 12. The safety of our students is always the priority.
7. Are there performances throughout the year?
A: Yes. Students take part in performances and showcases throughout the school year, where they have the opportunity to apply everything they have learned on stage. It is a moment of great pride for students and families alike.
8. Can an adult with no experience start ballet?
A: Absolutely. The adult Beginner class was created for those who have never danced before. Flexibility and prior experience are not required, these develop with regular practice. The only requirement is the desire to learn.
9. Is it possible to sit international examinations?
A: Yes. The RAD programme allows students to sit internationally regulated examinations, with certification recognised worldwide, a valuable asset for those wishing to pursue a professional career or simply validate their journey.
10. Is ballet suitable for boys?
A: Of course. Ballet is an extraordinary discipline for boys and men: it builds strength, coordination, agility and posture. Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender.
11. Can ballet help with academic performance?
A: Yes. Regular ballet practice improves attention, memory and discipline, skills that directly reflect in concentration and organisation at school.
12. Is it possible to have a trial class before enrolling?
A: Yes. A trial class can be arranged, subject to availability, so that the child and parents can get to know the space, the teachers and the methodology before signing up.
